You know when you’re kinda drunk up in the club and the DJ isn’t that tight but you are on the dancefloor anyway just cuz you haven’t heard Jay Z “I Just Wanna Love You” in a minute? Got the scene? Okay so then you maybe pull up on a girl who you start dancing with and you kinda want the DJ to get on to the next song cuz you don’t know the third verse by heart (“same song, I’m back, been around the world” not talking about Jay but you know what I mean). And then the DJ drops a song that you don’t have on your ipod or computer but you hear on the radio all the time and for the first time you realize you actually really like the song? Last weekend that happened to me with Ray J “Sexy Can I”. Man, I really love this song. I think I’m actually a huge Ray J fan too because “Wait A Minute” was my shit and I’m really feeling his new single “Gifts”
What’s up with Pharrell’s porno star moustache? I totally forgot about that. So powerful.
Not sure how I feel about the Nelly rapsinging on this song.
Some people might know Truck Turner as a 1974 blaxploitation film starring Isaac Hayes. Others might remember Truck Turner as an NY rapper signed to Jive in the late 90s. I don’t think he ever dropped an album but I was going thru my external hard drive with all my old music and found his “Symphony 2000″ remix featuring Pun, Kool G Rap and KRS. It was pretty good. He was also on that “5 Boroughs” joint from the Corruptor soundtrack

Somehow Truck Turner got on a track with Alicia Keyes like RIGHT before she blew up. I mean, this song sucks straight up.
Remember when Dilla was JD and he was in a group known as SV and it just so happened he had produced a lot of classic hip hop including ATCQ? I am all about him being memorialized but back in the late 90’s, Dilla was nowhere near the God he is now. Kinda unfortunate.

In fifteen minutes with elitaste.com, Tabi reveals a few details about his new album, his take on Wale’s recent success, and whether or not he’ll be making the switch from music to movies in the near future. (more…)

WantsForSale.com might be one of the coolest things I’ve seen in a very long time. These two painters basically paint something they want then sell the painting for how much the thing they painted actually costs. So for instance, in the picture above, they painted their rent check ($1056.07) and then sold the painting for $1056.07. Check out the other Wants that they now have
They even use their powers for philanthropy
Shouts to Matty G for telling me about this. And check out his artist Che Grand
Nike essentially created another type of shoe we needed to have
But remember how sick Barry Sanders was? And Bo Jackson (really sad he never got to realize his potential). You can’t sell a lot of football cleats to people who don’t play football. But you can sell CROSSTRAINERS!
And PRO STARS!
