0 Comments Video: All Out “Lights”

Posted by The Elitaste on 18 Feb 2010

All Out was formed in August of 2008 with the recording of the group’s first single, “Timebomb”. Joe Skutnik had been making beats for over 2 years, and decided he wanted to incorporate some pop/rock into his style. He invited Matt McCormick, the group’s other member, to sing on the track, and the two have been collaborating ever since. The ease with which Matt and Joe’s individual styles blend together owes partly to the fact that they have collaborated in various musical endeavors for nearly seven years. Despite both members currently attending different colleges, the group has been determined to promote themselves by any means necessary, while constantly writing new and progressive material. They have gathered a remarkably large following by selling their music on iTunes, spreading the word by mouth, and promoting online.

All Out’s style is unique in that it melds many genres of popular music, from pop to hip-hop to rock to techno. With all these styles at their disposal, they are able to create a distinctive sound that is energetic, catchy, and just plain fun. The group released an EP in August 2009, and have sold well over 3,000 songs on iTunes without label or management support. Most recently, Matt made it to the finals of NBC’s “The Sing Off” with his acapella group, The Bubs from Tufts University.
